We had such a fun day on the 4th. Despite the rain all afternoon we were still able to hit the Kingwood parade in the morning and barbecue and watch the fireworks in the evening. It was so much fun to spend time with such great friends. Thanks for helping us celebrate.

Emmie's 1st 4th of July. She loved waving the flags!

Nate eating an otter pop.

Enjoying the parade.

Eating donuts at the parade. This is a tradition of ours. (Mommy looks for any reason or holiday to sneak in donut-eating!)

This looks more like a post trick-or-treating picture than a 4th of July picture but this is what the boys came home with from the parade (minus all the otter pops and water bottles they handed out). When I say "parade" it really means a bunch of cars/trucks representing local businesses or sports clubs driving down the street handing out candy and other free goodies. The kids know it - and love it. They take bags for this very purpose. Gotta love a small town parade. We definitely live in "the land of the FREE"!
